Is cannabis legal for recreational use in Ohio?
Yes. Adults 21+ may purchase from licensed dispensaries.
What are the possession limits for recreational use in Ohio?
Up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis and 15 grams of extract/concentrate.
Where can I consume cannabis legally in Ohio?
On private property only. Public consumption and consumption in vehicles are prohibited.
What forms of cannabis products are available?

Do I have to be an Ohio resident to buy adult-use?
No. Any adult 21+ with valid government ID can purchase.

No. Driving while impaired is illegal; do not consume in a vehicle.
Can I cross state lines with cannabis?
No. Crossing state lines with cannabis is illegal under federal law.
Are there purchase limits per visit?
Transactions are constrained by Ohio’s possession limits (2.5 oz / 15 g extract).
What IDs are accepted?
A valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport) showing you’re 21+.
Are purchases taxed?
Yes. Adult-use cannabis is subject to state/municipal taxes at checkout.
Is delivery or pickup available in Ohio?
Delivery: Not currently permitted for adult-use.
Pickup: Yes—many dispensaries offer online order-ahead with in-store or drive-thru pickup.
What is the Story Cannabis Return Policy?
Ohio Return Policy
In accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18-8-12, cannabis products purchased from our dispensary may be eligible for return within 30 calendar days of the purchase date under the following conditions:
Eligible Returns:
- Defective products, which will be destroyed per regulatory requirements
- Products that do not match the item stated on the purchase receipt
- Cannabis products that were mislabeled by the maker of such product
Return Conditions:
- Returns must be made at the same location where the product was purchased
- Customers must present proof of purchase
- A full refund of the purchase price of the product will be provided at the time of return
- If applicable, a patient’s days’ supply will be adjusted to reflect the return
We do not accept returns for products that have been opened or used unless they meet the conditions above. For questions or support with a return, please contact your local dispensary team.
ANNOUNCEMENT: U.S. TREASURY DISCONTINUATION OF PENNIES
Due to the U.S. Treasury discontinued the production of pennies, Story Cannabis is no longer able to make exact change down to the penny for all transactions. Accordingly, starting on November 22nd, all transactions will be handled as follows:
