Ohio Cannabis Customers Spend $11.5 Million in First 5 Days
Ohio’s cannabis market is off to a strong start, with dispensaries racking up $11.5 million in adult-use sales in just five days from August 6-10. This pace suggests annual sales could reach around $842 million. Additionally, medical cannabis sales for the same week totaled over $8.3 million, hinting at a $430 million annual figure. Combined, Ohio is on track for nearly $1.3 billion in annual sales, surpassing Michigan’s 2020 debut numbers. With Michigan projected to hit $3.3 billion in 2024, and California, Illinois, and Massachusetts also reporting high sales, Ohio’s early performance positions it as a strong competitor in the cannabis market.
